Situation

A private equity client approached us to assist with realising the targeted procurement benefits of a transport business they had recently acquired

Approach

Our focus was on 3 main categories - tyres, parts and fuel. We worked with the team to understand the business requirements. We built a spend cube to identify opportunities for optimisation, both rate and practice.  Our sourcing strategy was a mix of direct negotiation and market engagement

Outcome

We ultimately delivered between 4% -21% cost reduction across the 3 categories as well as assisting the team with data structures and processes to update their spend cube on a regular basis so they could manage their spend base effectvely each and every month
