Our client, an Australian produce group, was experiencing significant operational issues that was heavily impacting their profitability and engaged us to assist with improving their supply chain and manufacturing processes and quickly instilling disciplines in the business
Approach
After an initial diagnostic, it became very clear that a lack of sales and operations planning was a key contributor to the business’ underperformance. As a result, we quickly stood up the basics of manufacturing and supply chain planning, instilled daily and weekly sales and production meetings, set plans for each time horizon and measured the attainment to the agreed plan on a daily basis to ensure that orders could be met and that waste was largely eliminated
Outcome
The client saw a significant decrease in waste, improved margins and a much improved ways of working in terms of collaboration and ownership from the cross functional teams, the use of data and reporting of results and outcomes and in the way the team resolved operational issues
